Welcome to Mersey Boroughs ITT

One of the countries leading providers of truly school led School Direct Primary Teacher Training

Are you a graduate career changer, or are you just about to graduate? Is teaching the career for you? Are you looking for the best teacher training route?

Our well established and highly successful PRIMARY programme has a fantastic success rate:

  • Last year, 100% of our trainees graduated as ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ teachers
  • Our employment rate is consistently very high – between 97 and 100% each year
  • Our rates of retaining teachers after training is excellent – all of our first cohort are still teaching and many have now moved into leadership roles.

Applications for our 2021/22 Primary ITT course are now open via Find postgraduate teacher training.  Our Mersey Borough’s main course provider code is: 1X8 course code: 2DFY and St Mary and St Paul’s Schools Direct provider code is: 17Q and course code 3CLS.

While MBITT doesn’t currently offer any secondary ITT places, we do work in partnership with Eureka Online College to support potential secondary applicants through offering Subject Knowledge Enhancement (SKE) courses.

SKE programmes are especially designed for graduates aspiring to teach a shortage subject, but for which their specialist subject knowledge falls short of the threshold required to join a teacher training course.
